Diverse measures for greener events
At our event location LAKESIDE on Lake Zwenkau, we do not regard sustainability as a mere buzzword, but as a central element of our actions and our philosophy. We believe in the responsibility we bear for our environment and community and therefore take a variety of measures to make events in our hotel as environmentally friendly as possible.
We are already implementing numerous measures for greener events at our sustainable location not far from the harbor in Zwenkau. Our procurement policy, for example, is geared towards conserving resources. We prefer regional and seasonal food and support local producers and suppliers in order to shorten transportation routes and reduce the environmental impact. We also know exactly where everything comes from and have a direct line to the producers. We also attach great importance to vegetarian and vegan alternatives in order to make our catering range even more varied and sustainable.
To further minimize our ecological footprint, we consistently use reusable tableware and strictly separate our waste. Our cleaning products are biodegradable and we prefer to use renewable raw materials such as wood in our furnishings and equipment.
When it comes to technology and energy efficiency, we invest in state-of-the-art, resource-saving event technology and lighting. By using renewable energy sources (solar system and heat pump) and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, we minimize our energy consumption, significantly reduce our carbon footprint and at the same time minimize our dependence on fossil energy sources.
In addition, we organize bus shuttles for events at our sustainable location on request in order to reduce individual journeys and thus further reduce the environmental impact. These measures are part of our commitment to making greener events possible at LAKESIDE Zwenkau and at the same time making a positive contribution to environmental protection.
We know that events are not necessarily considered sustainable. After all, a lot of material and personnel are pulled together for a short period of time. But this is also becoming increasingly greener. Our aim is not only to offer high-quality events, but also to organize them in harmony with our environment and community. We want to continuously improve and expand our sustainability efforts and thus play our part in creating an environmentally conscious event industry.
